Volunteers Needed for Food Drive
Social Capital Inc. (SCI) is seeking volunteers to help with the Woburn Neighborhood Food Drive on Saturday, October 24. Volunteers are also needed to distribute fliers about the food drive in their neighborhood this coming weekend, October 17 & 18.
The October postal food drive has historically provided a significant influx of food donations for the Food Pantry operated by the Woburn Council of Social Concern. However, that drive has been cancelled this year, at a time when the need is greater than ever due to the economic challenges resulting from COVID-19.
The Woburn Neighborhood Food Drive on October 24 will help make sure everyone in our community has enough food. People who would like to donate food will be able to leave the items outside their door and have it get picked up by volunteers. Just contact SCI if you would like to leave a donation for pickup.
You can also bring your food donations directly to the Food Pantry between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on October 24.
Volunteers are needed this weekend to help distribute fliers about the drive. This can be done at the volunteer’s convenience over the weekend. Contact SCI by this Thursday to help distribute fliers in your area.
SCI is also seeking volunteers to help picking up food donations and bringing them to the Food Pantry on Saturday, October 24.
If you would like to have your food donation picked up,or if you would like to volunteer, fill out the form at sciwoburn.org/fooddrive or text your name and address to 339-298-7789.
