Welcoming Our New LET Interns!
Earlier this month, SCI welcomed three new youth interns to our Leaders for Everyone’s Tomorrow (LET) youth mental health program. Joining the team are:
- Emma Doan, a freshman at Woburn Memorial High School (WMHS), serving as the LET Intern for Woburn Public Library (WPL) Teen Programming,
- Jonathan Verdier, a sophomore at WMHS, serving as the LET Intern for Communications and Outreach, and
- Renatha Clairsaint, a junior at WMHS, serving as the LET Intern for WPL Community Outreach & Engagement.
The new cohort of interns recently completed an orientation held at the WPL to build connections with the SCI LET team, establish a strong foundation for their new roles, and meet staff members at the WPL.
The addition of three new interns is made possible by SCI’s recent partnership with the WPL in the LET Program last fall. Through this partnership, LET aims to strengthen teen engagement at the Library while cultivating youth leaders.
Throughout their LET internship, the new youth leaders will continue to build skills in leadership, teamwork, outreach, community organizing, project management, and more by promoting positive mental health and wellness through LET events and resources.
Providing peer mentorship for the new cohort are SCI’s LET interns, Girmari Francois and Rayane Khoulani Hadjiat, seniors at WMHS who joined the LET program fall of 2024.
Upcoming LET activities and events driven by the LET youth include:
- Woburn Kindness Day, Wednesday, March 18, at the WPL Teen Room from 2-3:30pm – Teens will create bingo cards with 25 days of wellness goals.
- AI & Mental Health Workshop, April – Details TBA!
- City of Woburn’s Live Free Fun Run, Sunday, May 31, at Ice House Park – Find SCI LET’s table at the event!
- Juneteenth Woburn, Saturday, June 20th at the WPL – Details TBA!
