Gardner Playground Restoration

When: Sunday, July 13, 2014 10 AM - 4 PM

Where: Ovila Case Playground, Stuart St, Gardner, MA

With the support of the City of Gardner and donations from National Lumber Alternatives, restoration of Gardner’s Ovila Case Playground will be able to take place. Ovila Playground is a large unique wooden playground that has fallen into disrepair over the years. This playground holds a special place in the memories of many Gardner residents and now volunteers have the opportunity to help preserve it for future kids and families. Much of the damaged wood has been replaced or repaired since the project began in the fall of 2013. Work that remains includes sanding and staining the many nooks and crannies that makes this playground very special. This opportunity provides volunteers with the chance to get outside, do something hands-on, and make connections with others in the community. No special training or skills are necessary to volunteer. All abilities are welcome! Instruction, equipment and light refreshments will be provided.
