Volunteers Needed for Education Program

Bridget Navarro is an alum of MIT. She is starting an after school program for middle and high school students to help improve their problem solving and digital literacy skills through technology. She is looking for volunteers ages 19 to late 20's, preferably current or former college students. These volunteers will help design mini research projects in various subjects for the students. Volunteers must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. The time commitment for this volunteer opporunity is a minimum of 2 hours per week. The pilot program is set to take place in November at Fenway High School located at 174 Ipswich Street in Boston, MA, 02215.

Let's Get Ready College Application Completion Day

Come help out local high school students learn about the college process from volunteers whom have already gone through the process.


When: Saturday October 19th from 10 am until 2 pm.

Where: The Nonprofit Center, 89 South St, Boston, MA, 02111 (Will be meeting in the Community Room on the 1st Floor)

What: The volunteers will have the opportunity to work directly with the students helping them with advice on the common college application process as well as their personal statements

Fall Volunteer Day

Franklin Park Coalition Logo

Come join the Franklin Park Coalition help beautify Franklin Park!


When: Saturday October 19th from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm

Where: Franklin Park, Volunteers meet at the Valley Gates parking lot at 10 am

What: Volunteers will help beautifying Franklin Park by pulling invasive plants, raking, picking up garbage, and more throughout the park


Volunteers are advised to come prepared to work outdoors, wear layers, boots/sneakers, and older clothing

Asian American Civic Association's College Day

The Asian American Civic Association (AACA) will be hosting their 3rd Annual College Day event!


When: Sunday October 20th from 1:30 until 3:00 pm

What: Looking for a Spanish translator volunteer to help with the financial aid portion of the College Day .

Volunteer to Plant a Community Garden

Join the Student Conservation Association for Volunteer Day!

When: Saturday, June 29th from 9AM-12PM

Where: Meet at the gardening gate at Shangri La Gardens, Almont Park, Mattapan

What: Volunteer to weed, clear pathways and plant in the SCA and Mattahunt garden plots.

Participate in a 5K Run/Walk for Marathon Bombing Survivor

Join the United Sisters of Color for a 5K Run/Walk to benefit Mery Daniel, a Mattapan resident and marathon bombing survivor.

When: Sunday, June 30th. Registration at 9AM. 5K from 10AM-1PM.

Where: Meet at the Franklin Park Golf Clubhouse (One Circuit Drive, Roxbury). 

What: Run or walk in a 2.5 mile course.

Volunteer at Circle The City

Volunteer at Circle The City, a Boston's Open Streets, Open Parks project where thousands of people will get to walk, bike, dance and play in the city streets.

When: Sunday, July 14th from 11AM-4PM

Where: Huntington Avenue. The festival will be moving between Belvidere Street and Brigham Circle on the outbound side of Huntington, connecting to the Back Bay Fens and the Southwest Corridor.

What: Volunteer to help with a variety of tasks such as: event preparation, outreach support, set up and break down, running the information booth, assisting with safe street crossings, monitoring routes, surveying etc.

Socialize with One Brick Boston

Join One Brick Boston for a monthly social event!

When: Tuesday, July 16th from 5:30-7:30PM

Where: Kinsale, 2 Center Plaza, Boston

What: Enjoy free light appetizers and drink, have some fun, and meet new friends. These social events are a great way to meet the One Brick Boston team and volunteers, as well as to learn more about the community.

Volunteer on Nelson Mandela Day

Nelson Mandela Day is an international day of service dedicated to continuing the South African leader’s legacy of working to improve the lives of others.

On July 18th, Mandela’s birthday, individuals are encouraged to donate 67 minutes of their time to a favorite charity or their local community to honor the 67 years Mandela spent fighting for the rights of others.

Help a Neighbor in Crisis

Volunteer with Neighbor Brigade, an organization dedicated to providing immediate and free assistance to neighbors experiencing sudden crises such as cancer treatment, illness, accident and other tragedies.

Volunteers are needed to help with:

  • Delivering meals
  • Providing transportation
  • Home maintenance
