You can help connect people to the resources they need at this time when budgets are stretched thin and every dollar counts.
Every week, SCI connects over 5,700 residents in Dorchester, Lynn and Woburn with timely information they need to participate in community life and vital resources that can help in these tight times. This week we're connecting people to a flu clinic in Dorchester; last week we recruited a volunteer to teach developmentally disabled adults how to skate; throughout the fall we've mobilized hundreds of food, clothing and toy donations as people respond to the needs they learn about through SCI.
The technology that powers these connections is very cost-effective, but it is not free nor is typically funded through grants. SCI pays a total of $624/year for the email service and web hosting. Our goal is to raise this $624 from supporters like you by Dec. 31 to keep this vital service going for the next year.
A donation of $12 covers one week of the costs that connect local residents to what they need. For $52, you can connect thousands of residents to an entire month of timely civic information-mobilizing hundreds of volunteers, generating essential in-kind donations of food & clothing, and much more. p.s. we've also recently brought similar civic web & email services to seven new locations. The costs for delivering the service in these spots have been covered already by local stakeholders.
