Developing Young Leaders on #GivingTuesday
We've had a day to give thanks and two days to get shopping deals. Now, you can join SCI in making today #GivingTuesday! Today we are focusing on our goal to raise $1,700 to train young leaders, which is one of our year-end campaign objectives.
#GivingTuesday emphasizes teaching the importance of giving, a central element of the SCI youth leadership programming that trains over 250 Eastern Massachusetts teens in Boston, Fall River, Gloucester, Lynn and Woburn.
Our goal today is to encourage participation. We're seeking to jumpstart our year-end campaign to empower young leaders with 20 donations of $10 or more, and at least 20 social media shares about SCI's campaign. We're confident that hitting these goals will put us well on our way to raising $1700 to support our work with young leaders. You can donate to this campaign on our Square Marketplace page.
Again, today is about participation; our goal is at least 20 donations of $10 or more. Any amount makes a big difference in our work with young leaders. Click here to donate now.
Share with your social network
We're also asking supporters of SCI's mission to share about our campaign. Below is a sample message, sized for Twitter, that can be used as a social media status update on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn.
You can also go to our Facebook page, and share Tuesday's update on your own wall.
Speaking of our Facebook page, we’re trying to get over 1,000 fans this month! Another way you can help on this #GivingTuesday is to invite some your friends to like the Social Capital Inc. page. Our Facebook page is a great way to get inspired about the great things happening in our communities, keep up on social capital news, and hear about important events. Consider inviting 20 of your friends, or whatever number is right for you.
Increase your #SCimpact
Maybe giving your time is what you're looking to do today. On our #SCimpact page, we've got a great variety of ways to help around the holidays, from gift wrapping to leading teens in service on MLK Day. We update this page and related social media channels regularly with opportunities from SCI partners and other local groups. You can sign-up for the monthly #SCimpact newsletter while checking out the current opportunities. If you'd like to do a #GivingTuesday social share about this, here's some sample language:
Thanks for your giving!
We have a great network of people who are giving in so many ways to their community and we anticipate you will be busy giving today and throughout the month. We'd be very excited and thankful if you chose to include SCI in your giving as we approach the end of the year.
