Social Capitalist Luncheon Award Winners Announced

Each year we honor individuals that exemplify our mission by presenting them with an SCI Idealist Award. This year's Idealist Award winners, Saskia & Paul Epstein, & Susan Musinsky, will be honored at the 2010 Social Capitalist Luncheon.

The SCI Social Capitalist Luncheon will be held on April 7th in the Grand Carver Ballroom of the Radisson Hotel, located on 200 Stuart Street in Boston. The Luncheon will start promptly at 12:00, so arrive at 11:30 for check in and networking. David Crowley is the President and Founder of Social Capital Inc., and Kaia Stern is the Director of the Pathways Home Project at the Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice at Harvard Law School.

YourBrookline & Other Sites Taking Off

I was getting ready for a meeting in Brookline this morning, and thought I'd see what was new on the YourBrookline.org site. I was pleased to see that roughly nine months after launching the site in partnership with the Brookline Community Foundation, the site seems very lively and showing promise for fulfilling its purpose of connecting community members to opportunities to participate in the community. Program highlights from 2008/09

OK, so no one likes reporting, do they? (if you do, please contact me for volunteer opportunities). Typically, when I hit "submit" as I did last night with about 4 hours to spare before the 11:59 p.m. deadline, I'm simply glad to be done and move on. But as I was working on our AmeriCorps final report for the 2008/09 year, I realized I needed to pause after getting it done and share some of the good stuff about what we accomplished.
