An evening to hear feedback from the community about the relevance, role and future of MyDorchester. We’re hoping to find out how we can continue to shape the website/program to best serve the neighborhood - whether that’s changing how the site is managed, what is on the site, whether to have a website at all, who we should be listening to and working with.

Milford Youth CouncilJennifer Ward, pictured on the left, an SCI AmeriCorps Member serving in Milford has been in the news lately for her work with the Milford Youth Council. Jennifer has helped create  two interesting events lately: a fashion show entitled "Get Dressed up, Not Messed Up, and a Milford Youth version of the Olympics.

Local kids have the chance to boost their leadership skills, participate in civic life and make a direct positive impact on their community, thanks to $25,000 grant from the Comcast Foundation.

Comcast, the nation’s leading provider of entertainment, information and communications, awarded the grant to SCI Social Capital Inc. to bring their youth council program to Milford and create a new opportunity for children between the ages of 12 and 18.

Kids selected as members of the council will administer an annual mini-grant program that will fund community projects proposed by other Milford youth through the Juvenile Advocacy Group (JAG).
