Katie Sullivan

Katie Sullivan is an SCI AmeriCorps member who was originally drawn to the program through the experience she had with the Boys & Girls Club of Woburn while attending Woburn Memorial High School. As a sophomore, Katie made the decision to apply to the Intrepid Keystone Club - a choice that eventually set her on a path that led her to attend the University of New Hampshire and upon graduating, inspired her to give back to the organization which had such an strong impact on her as a highschooler.

SCI Awarded MLK Day of Service Grant

"Martin Luther King Day Jr. Day of Service 2014,", Massachusetts Service Alliance (December 2013)

Martin Luther King Jr. Day to most is a federal holiday, but here at SCI, and many other organizations across the country, it is a Day of Service. The Massachusetts Service Alliance awards Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service mini grants to organizations who want to help develop opportunities for people across the Commonwealth. These mini grants are designed to engage others in volunteerism and service during the week of Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 19 – Jan. 25, 2014).  For more info click here!

Initiated by Congress in 1994, Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a nationwide effort to transform this holiday into a day of community service, to help solve the nation’s critical needs.Read more

Martin Luther King Jr. once said that "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve."  This January 21st is officially recognized as Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

As a way to honor this extraordinary leader,  on MLK Day, you can sign up to help with a community service project near you!
